Report du match/Match report (une traduction d'un article du site officiel):
"Sergio Roitman against Nicolas Devilder (photo). Considering a ranking difference of 35 positions (Roitman – 82, Devilder - 117), we still could expect a battle. But the reality has surpassed all the expectations. That was indeed a match of the day.
It could be predicted that Devilder began it aggressively and without any hesitage. But when the first set which lasted over an hour went finally to Devilder, the crowd got again into doubts about the favorite of this encounter. In the second set the Argentine player showed the Frenchman why his nickname is "Escopeta" (a gun) – and with some powerful forehands and successful net game he got it back to the balance winning the second set 6:2.
"This should be a match of the day!", that was the crowd's opinion at almost totally filled stands during the third set. Roitman as well as Devilder, both were fighting for every single ball and both were playing their best. The atmosphere came to its apogee when it was 5:4 and the Argentine didn't manage to realize his match point sending a ball to the net. But after all he managed to win this battle which lasted over 2.5 hours. "It was a hard match, moreover that Devilder was playing especially great at the decisive points when it was almost coming to the end" – said the winner after leaving the court."
Merci Nicolas, bien joué en tout cas. N'abandonne pas, tu auras ton heure!
